Partner with the network
Hotels, resorts, tour operators, charter captains, restaurants, and cruise lines along any of America's three launch corridors can submit a property or experience for editorial consideration.
This is not pay-for-play. It's submit-for-review.
We publish what we'd recommend to a friend. We don't accept payment for inclusion, but we do prioritize businesses that engage with us — meaning we're more likely to find time to visit, photograph, and write up a property whose owner has reached out and provided real access.
What we look for
- Hotels & resorts: launch-pad views, beachfront, distinctive design, or genuinely good value. We don't list chains unless they're the best option in town.
- Vacation rentals: condos and houses with launch views, well-maintained, with responsive owners. We link through VRBO most often.
- Restaurants: local-only. We don't cover chains or franchises. We care about the food first, the room second.
- Tour operators & charters: licensed, insured, with a meaningful track record. Bonus for unique launch-day or corridor-specific itineraries.
- Activities: kayaking, kiteboarding, fishing, birding, off-roading, dark-sky stargazing — anything genuinely worth a visitor's time.
How submission works
Send the following to hello@smokeandsand.co:
- Property or business name + corridor (Texas / Florida / California)
- One-paragraph pitch — what makes this worth covering?
- 3–5 high-resolution photos (or a press-kit link)
- Booking URL or contact for editorial visits
We don't promise coverage and we don't promise timelines, but every submission gets read.
Affiliate & commercial relationships
If we recommend a property and a booking platform pays us commission on the resulting reservation, we say so on the page and on our full disclosure page. Our editorial decision and the existence of an affiliate relationship are independent — we'll happily recommend a property that pays us nothing and ignore one that does, if that's the honest call.
Display advertising
We don't currently sell display advertising. If that changes, it'll be announced here first.
